Microphone Elements and Clips
These Omnidirectional Stereo Microphones use electret condenser microphone cartridges.

They have a high degree of reliability under adverse shock, vibration and environmental conditions.  The capsules specifications are -44 dB +3dbB of sensitivity and have a 20 to 20,000 hz frequency range.

Omnidirectional Microphone compaired to the size of a dime
Highly concealable mics

The high fidelity Omnidirectional  microphone capsule is in a handcrafted brass housing with durable steel alligator clips at the base, black automotive finish and vibration dampening adhesive lined heat shrink tubing.

Designed specifically for use with the “mic input” jack, also known as "plug-in power," that has voltage outputs from between 1.5 to 9 volts or with our Miniature Stereo and Mono Microphone 9 Volt Battery Power Supply.

Microphone Cable
On all of our mics we use the highest quality cable available;
Miniature Balanced Musical Instrument cable.

It was designed for professional stage and studio applications, has greater abrasion and impact resistance, extra limpness, and at the same time light weight.  A larger gage of this type and manufacturer of cable is used in the pro music industry including those who do large venue concerts.

The cable is rugged, flexible, has a long flex life and high interference and noise immunity.

It is one the best and durable cables available for this kind of microphone application anywhere.

You get two five foot lengths on this stereo mic.

Pro Mini Plugs

1/8 inch Stereo Canare Microphone plug

Each stereo mic comes with a strong, durable 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) mini-stereo plug. These are also among the best available.

Optional Neutrik NTP3RC-B right Angle Gold Plated Plug

Neutrik NTP3RC-B Gold Right Angled Plug
This is a plug that is soldered to the cable.  Not an adapter.

These low profile Neutrik NTP3RC-B. right angle plugs work well for recorders with recessed input jacks and are the best right angled gold plated plugs available anywhere, in my opinon.

Sound Samples

* Foo Fighters 1/28/06 - le Zénith, Paris, France
Recorded with a Sony TCD-D8 DAT recorder roughly 70 feet from in front of the speaker stacks.
Everlong 3.7 MB

*  Davy Jones - March 28, 1999 Macomb Centre For The Performing Arts, Clinton Twp, Michigan

5.4MB MP3 file   This was recorded with Giant Squid Audio Lab omnidirectional stereo mics and a Sharp Sharp 702 Mini Disc recorder in the 4th row of an indoor theater.

*  Beach Boys Family And Friends - 12/30/99 Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, MI This 5.7 MB MP3 file was recorded with a Sharp MT-15 Mini Disc recorder.

This show was in an echoey casino banquet hall.  Not the best place to record live music but it did turn out okay.  The bass was equalized down slightly for this sample.  Carnie Wilson's vocals are fine and up front despite the venue it was recorded at.

*  The B-52s - 7/7/00  DTE Energy Music Theatre, Clarkston, Michigan
This 11.7 MB file 14 rows from the stage with my MD unit at an outdoor pavilion venue.   Although not stealthed under the most ideal conditions, the sound coming from the speaker stacks was captured accurately with these mics.

* The Blue Notes - 6/15/02  DTE Energy Music Theatre, Clarkston, Michigan
Here is a 22.8 MB sample, this time recorded 7 rows from the stage at the same outdoor pavilion venue as the B-52s show.

It was made using one of the best methods for taping up close:  pointing the mics directly at the stage, NOT the speaker stacks.  The results are more smooth and natural sounding.

All recordings were made with the mics clipped to the rims of eye glasses.  For the full effect play them loudly through your stereo!

Absolutely no alterations were made to these recordings except the one from the casino.  Otherwise these are unretouched MD > coax digital soundcard > WAV > MP3 transfers.
